Transportation: Incredible Location with easy access to NYC:
Bus/Train:
Directly around the corner from NJ Transit Bus #123 (21-26 minutes during rush hour and 15-20 minutes in non-rush hour to Port Authority, Manhattan (see schedule) and NJ Transit Bus #22 (see schedule) is 12 minutes to Hoboken Terminal transportation hub with New Jersey Transit commuter rail lines, Metro-North Railroad line, New Jersery Transit Bus Lines, and various private bus lines, NY Waterway-operated ferries and PATH train ). PATH train runs to Manhattan (14 minutes to Penn Station, 10 minutes to World Trade Center) and Newark (see PATH information). Apartment is 5 blks to Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train station (see route - we are near the "9th/Congress St.." station, right above Washington Park) which connects directly to Hoboken Terminal and PATH and points north and south along Hudson coast, including Newport/Pavonia, Jersey City, Bayonne, and West New York. Lastly, a short cab ride to Hoboken PATH is $6 or $7. Independent dollar buses also run to and fro city on regular basis.
Walking: Apartment is 3 blks from a pedestrian staircase (at 8th St/Palisades Ave.) which connects you to Hoboken…5 minute walk to the northern end of town and Clearview Hoboken Cinemas and 25 minutes to the downtown/PATH end of Hoboken. The "9th/Congress St." Light Rail station has a 24-hour elevator for quick descent from our scenic perch on the hill (with gorgeous views of Manhattan) into Hoboken, for dinner, shopping, family activity, classes, etc.
Driving: Minutes away from either Lincoln or Holland tunnels into Manhattan and easy acces to New Jersey Turnpike and 495 to other points. No parking space on property.
Neighborhood:
3 blocks from beautiful public swimming pool and Manhattan overlook. 4 blocks from large public park with dog park, 8 tennis courts, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas. 2 blocks from Fine Fare grocery store, 10 minute walk (or very short drive) to more substantial Shop Rite in Hoboken (they deliver groceries up the hill for $5). 7 minute walk to LightRail transportation. Bilingual community, schools, churches, and early daycare centers abound. We LOVE it here. It's quiet, safe, family-based, and incredibly convenient if you work in the city.
